This is the era of ‘no excuses’ for insurance companies

It is widely accepted that ‘relevant’ insurers will never fail to deliver personalised insurance product and services. We at Insurance Nexus have a huge respect for this endeavour, and for those that prove themselves to be ambitious, embracing of change and willing to provide the customer with exactly what they’re looking for. In tribute to this process, we are hugely excited to gather the community together and to provide the platform that allows the industry’s innovation to become a reality. This will be the basis for Connected Insurance Europe 2019.

There is no doubt that the industry has taken forward steps in the last twelve months. Agile start-ups have piled pressure onto the incumbents to deliver product that interacts with the customer intuitively and responds in a bespoke fashion to the customer’s requirements. And isn’t it exciting to see? The collaborations that have been forming are changing the industry and the public’s perception of insurance forever.

We must remember however that bringing in any successes through innovation comes at great cost. Internally insurers are tackling issues with legacy systems and processes, communication, culture, and enterprise architecture. Only with a simultaneous approach to improvement can the future in connected propositions be realised.

By gathering the ‘agents of change’ within the insurers, including product, innovation, strategy, IT and technology the next steps can, and will be taken. Practically speaking, this means excellent partnerships and third-party integration; the enhancement of operational capabilities and product functionality.
